Our community hall needs a new cleaner.

The Role:

Time required: Max 2 hours per week
Cleaning Day/Time: Flexible
Weekly clean includes toilets, main hall and kitchen
Employment status: You won't be employed by the hall, but instead work on a self employed basis.
Cleaning materials and equipment will be provided
Remuneration: By agreement

Who would the role suit?

Someone living locally looking for an extra source of income
Someone looking for a weekend job
Someone with a couple of hours to spare each week
Someone who can work on their own and take pride in doing a good job.

How can you help?

The ideal person could be you, or you might know someone who would be ideal for the job.

Harvey's House Calls for Cats is a family run business in the Waternish area, offering a pet service for cats and cat owners. The business is named in commemoration of our own late cat Harvey.

We are fully insured and DBS checked, and offer a number of services, including:

• cat sitting in your own home;
• overnight stays;
• cat walking for indoor cats;
• cat chauffeuring

Isle of Skye Agricultural Show returns to the King George V Playing fiields in Portree on Saturday 3rd August 2024.

There's something for all the family to get involved in, with competition classes for sheep, cattle, horses, poultry, dogs, cookery and crafts.   Check out the website for this year's schedule and see if there's any classes you can enter.

For a start.....why not start practising your baking skills.  There's a class for all age groups:

Children’s Cookery Section:

Entries will be judged in Preschool, P1 to P4, P5 to P7, and High School categories.

Class 1 (Pre-school):  2 x Rice Crispy Cakes
Class 2 (P1 to P4):  3 x Fairy Cakes
Class 3 (P5 to P7):  4 x Iced Gingerbread Men
Class 4 (High School):  Set Recipe Raspberry Ripple Cookies from the Hebridean Baker

Adult Cookery Section:
Open to all bakers aged 16 and above.

Class 5: 8oz Victoria Sponge
Class 6: 4 pieces of Millionaire’s Shortbread
Class 7: 2lb Gingerbread
Class 8: A Savoury Bread (any form)
Class 9: Jar of Jam
Class 10: Jar of Marmalade
Class 11: Jar of Chutney
Class 12: Set Recipe Shearing Cake from the Hebridean Baker

🎟 **Entry Fee:** 50p per entry – Please bring correct change.
🏆 **Prizes:**
1st Place: £3.00
2nd Place: £2.00
3rd Place: £1.00

📋 **Note:** All entries must be homemade and presented on a white plate (paper, china, or plastic). Jars must be in a glass jar. Ensure your entry label is folded and taped to the bottom of the plate/jar.

Two cats on Waternish need rehoming, or a foster home until a permanent one can be found, as their owner is no longer able to look after them. It is the owner's wish that the cats are rehomed together, and remain on Waternish.

At the moment the cats live outside, but have access to a house through a cat-flap.
